They neither persist in being similar in form nor despise the depiction of natural reality. The depiction are exquisite deeply but not trivial. The brushwork are delicate, grace but with a little stylization. The contents are full of poetic and at sometime keep an eye on common life. During Song Dynasty, when the civilization valued cultural the creation works of the artist are influenced by combination of the royal taste, the literatiâ€beauty appreciation and the interests of secularity. The artists who sponsored by the imperial art institute are doing their works by the way of "brush polishing and "artistic mood polishing". On the one hand, they inherit and purify the brushwork language of the northern Song Dynasty and go further exploration in brushwork expression. On the other hand, the artists are giving deeply experienced and poetic caring to human beings and the nature, excavating the beauty potential contained in every detail of normal life and abstracting a new artistic mood.First of all, in this paper I am trying to reâ€explain the "words polishing" and "literati mood polishing" from poetic theories to the "brushwork polishing" and" artistic polishing" in the Chinese landscape painting theory. Combining the cultural effect from "Songâ€studies" with reference research date, I analysis the creation situation of fullâ€time artists who working in art institute. The studies on the drawing method of "small scene landscape" painting are start with the firstâ€form using the way of "image to image" to launch a phenomenological analysis. In order to abstract the unique artistic mood, the artists making their attempt from combination of "the mood from poetic","the mood from ancient ","the mood from secular "and "the mood from unique" these four aspects. For abstract the unique brushwork figure which is best fit to express the Southern beauty, the artists choosing" the first view gazing "as the observation way, choosing "oneâ€point" as the time and space condition, using the "fragment" as the view finding method to do feature painting. They inherit and transform the six ancient brushwork systems, dealing with the space situation simply and gently via "vacant" and "virtual and essence "method. In the end, the discussion of this paper stretched from creation methodology into Chinese painting history valuation. In the tradition of Chinese painting history, the paintings from imperial art institute of the Southern Song Dynasty are regarded as negative examples to Chinese Literati Paintings. But the Palaceâ€style artists in Southern Song Dynasty had double characters of craftsman and scholar. They merged both the tastes of the royal and emotion from deep inside together into their painting, and let the artist mood and poetic illusion reinforce each other in one painting. This introspection way of expression is very much fit the Literati Painting Tradition in Chinese landscape history. So the works of "small scene landscape" in Southern Song Dynasty have a important inspiring meaning to open a new era of scholar paintings. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Small scene landscape, Returning to the ancient, poetic expression, introspection, Literati painting tradition, method, value | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
