Dunin Accordion Works

Du Ning is a Chinese contemporary accordion composer, performer and educator.Among his many years engaged in the work of the accordion, he created a lot of goodaccordion works. While these works were in the process of spreading and learning,they not only promoted the development process of Chinese accordion musicnationalization, but also played a significant role in the promotion process ofaccordion music in China.Creation of accordion music of Du Ning includes solo and ensemble twocategories. In the solo works, this paper selects the five most representative works-"Capriccio on A theme of Northern Shaanxi Folk Songs","Customs in Northeast ChinaSuite","Variations on the Four Corners of the World Military Theme","The HeavenlyRoad Capriccio","I am a soldier", and from the background of works, music ontology,performance skills three aspects for a more depth and meticulous research, this paperfurther demonstrates the rich musical performance means and the creation of a solidfoundation of the composer. In the ensemble works, this paper selected a duet, a triorespectively-"Soldiers most listen to the party","Prairie hymn" and make a in-depthanalysis on them from creation overview, music ontology and performance skills threeaspects.This paper make a research and discussion from the seven parts of the accordionworks of Du Ning below:The first part as the introduction, which from three period include the early days,the Cultural Revolution, and the days form reform to the present, is an overview ofthe development of Chinese accordion music and the creative process, and it is also abrief review process of our local accordion music and music culture merging.In the second part, the life and music of Du Ning is introduced. It is divided intotwo sections to elaborate in detail: the first section describes the life of the composer;the second section describes the creation of Chinese accordion situation, existingproblems, the music introduction to creative ideas and works of the composer. The third part is the analysis of the works. This part respectively from the aspectsof background and structure to make detailed and thorough analysis on fewrepresentative works of Du Ning. Is divided into two sections: the first sectionelaborates the analysis of Du Ning accordion solo works, the second analysis onaccordion ensemble works of Du Ning.The fourth part is the analysis of the work performance skills. Mainly based onthe own playing experience of author, this paper from the respects of musicprocessing, skills to use and other aspects to make the appropriate play tips about theworks analyzed before. Focus is divided into three sections to elaborate: the first is theintroduction of the way about finger to touch the key; The second section analyzes therelationship between rhythm, tempo and dynamics; Section three is the rational use ofbellows.The fifth part is a summary of accordion music creation characteristics of DuNing. This part is elaborated into two sections: the first section introduces theuniqueness of Du Ning works on military music material is selected the theme andcombine China folk music theme and accordion this instrument, out of a nationalmusic creation; the second section introduces the peculiarity of Du Ning accordionmusic creation technique.The sixth part describes the main contribution of our contemporary accordionmade by Du Ning.This part is divided into three sections to elaborate:the first partelaborates the organization of concerts and music writing competition; the secondsection is about editing new version of the accordion Grading textbooks; the lastsection describes an active role of Du Ning in the development for military accordionmusic played.The last part is the conclusion, which mainly summarized the study value ofaccordion music works of Du Ning and his active role in promoting development ofaccordion in China.
