As the winners of the Nobel Prize for literature, Mo Yan and Garcia Marquez bothplay remarkable roles in world literature. Mo Yan’s novel creation has been inspired byGarcia Marquez, which makes the comparison of the two writers possible. The authorfinds that female writings are quite similar in both writers’ works through deep analysis. Inreaction to the phenomenon, this thesis focus on the following three aspects, thecomparability between the two writers, the comparability of the female images in theworks and cultural implication affecting the female writing. The author believes by thisresearch, people could have a better understanding of the two writers’ works. It will be alsohelpful in getting to know more about the creation, the views of female of the two writersand the social status of women nowadays.This thesis is divided into five parts.The introduction introduces the main works of Mo Yan and Garcia Marquez’s and thecurrent researches about them at home and abroad. The author makes a brief introductionof the two points and shows new creative opinions and significance of her study.The first chapter discusses the comparability between the two writers through twoaspects, Mo Yan’s treacherous acceptance of Garcia Marquez and similarity of femaleviews. The author studies both the two writers’ growth background, female roles in theirlives to analyze the reasons why the female writing are so similar in their works.The second chapter focuses on the theme "female images". The author chooses someworks and analyzes female images and similarity in details from three aspects,"magicwomen","maternal image" and "rebellious women".The third chapter illustrates the cultural connotation of female image behind thetheme. This part mainly focuses on the legendary female, female worship, the lacking ofroot and return to traditional, to explain deep cultural purports of female images.The conclusion part summarizes the whole thesis, and reiterates the viewpointsagain.
