Liu Xinglong is a writer who is the representative of the neo-realism and the newlocal in Chinese contemporary literary.His works force on the reality of life in thecivilian world,and he always concerned about rural life.Starting from the history andreality China rural society,he used two views between urban and rural,visited themodern civilization in the process who bring the activities.He explorated the human’sexistence and value,and made the aesthetic graps to our country in transition plight ofnative culture.As a local novelist,Liu Xinglong had something of love for country,andthis kind of "blood special feelings in the country side" formed his unique creationmentality. This paper is dividedto into six parts:Part one: Introduction. Summarize the research status,significance and thebackground.Part two: Summarize creation mentality and defines the creation mentality.Thencombine and summary the Liu Xinglong’s creation mentality,and analyze the reasonsfor its formation. Due to Liu Xinglong childhood experiences and the influence offamily environment, present in the creation of local nostalgic mentality. At the sametime, because of Liu Xinglong’s calm and persistent personality, so that his creativementality presents the deep sense of hardship, makes Liu Xinglong’s works showsadness but not pessimistic color. From Liu Xinglong’s literary works,we can seethat,there is not only one creative mentality throughout his writing career, Liu Xinglong has different mentalities in different stages of creation with the times andconstantly changing.
