The description for the existential construction is one of the fundamental usagesof all human languages. A large number of Chinese learners are prone to use theexistential construction grammar frequently when they firstly start learning asbeginers. While Chinese has different language structures on expressing the meaningof existence. There are only a few in Korean, which also has a much more free wordorders. Diffirent with Chinese, it would not cause a switch on the structure even itsorder is changed. Thus,Korean learners usually make the mistakes on the loss orconfusion of Chinese exitential verbs when they use the existential construction. Thisthesis is aimed to make a comparison on the existential construction of Korean andChinese in hope of offering a reference for learners and novice Chinese languageteachers in Korea.This thesis is divided into4chapters, with the following contents:Chapter1:A brief introduction on subjects, background, methodologyand language resource of this paper.Chapter2: A comparison on“是”“有”“在” usage of Chinese and Korean.Chapter3: The teaching suggestions on teaching the Chinese existentialconstruction to Korean students.Conclusion: A summary on the contributions and some points that need to beimproved.
