Besides the royalty appreciation and collection, private collectors also played an important role in this. As a refined scholar, a collector, also a near-rolyaty at the same time, Wang Shen was one of the representatives of private collector in Northern Song Dynasty. The thesis centers on Wang Shen’s collection, reviews the popularity of painting and calligraphy collection during his times.
