In contemporary society, due to the frequent communication and appreciation between Chinese and Western cultures, modern Chinese has gradually formed the education mode which regards Western painting ideas and forms as the foundation and starting point of Chinese art education. From the beginning of art education, the younger generation who studies painting has been educated by the sketch, color, and other Western paintings, ignores the education of the traditional China painting. With the development of history and the changing of times, the multi-development of freehand figure painting diversification has become an inevitable trend in present China. Although the guidance of Western scientific ideas infused new life and energy into Chinese freehand figure painting, at the same time, we also found new problem that is the introduction of Western realistic painting idea also encroached the vitality and glamour of Chinese traditional paintings. The introduction of modern Western art concepts largely impaired our own cultural ideas and aesthetic sense. Therefore, in such a diversified development of the era, how to grasp a “degree” is an urgent question we should ponder.I am guided by the principle that is the advocation of tradition, the merging of East and West, and the focus on the future, the paper explores and studies the development of landscape paintings of the past, works landscape paintings and the theories of freehand figure painting through the perspective of appreciation and history. It probes into the relevance in the depth of thought and the common ground in art forms to realize that freehand figure painting in present China has been influenced by many complicated elements. This paper mainly investigate the influence and application of the landscape painting on freehand figure painting from the aspect of the performance techniques. It also illustrate the aesthetic sense of traditional landscape painting and the theory of brushes expand the creation space of contemporary freehand figure painting, and the traditional thoughts and humanistic feelings bring inspiration on the creation ideas and ideological depth of contemporary freehand figure painting.
