Money profiles were identified by Tang based on people’s attitude toward money in cognition, emotion, and behavior using cluster analysis. Past investigation classified four money profiles, achieving money worshiper, careless money admirer, apathetic money manager, and money-repellent individual. Survey research found some differences between individuals in these four money profiles. This study investigated college students’money attitudes, identified four money profiles, and analyzed the characteristics of these four money profiles. The order according to the proportion of the four money profiles was achieving money worshiper, apathetic money manager, careless money admirer, and money-repellent individual. After that, some students from the four money profiles were invited to take part in the following experiments, which aimed to further exam the differences between the four money profiles, particularly in experimental conditions. Three experiments were designed to investigate the differences between money profiles in processing money pictures, emotional faces, and money-food pictures.Differences in attentional bias for money pictures between these four money profiles were explored using dot-probe and cuing paradigm in Study1. The result of dot-probe paradigm was not satisfied because of the effect of extraneous variables. Therefore, a cuing paradigm was added in this study. Results showed that attentional bias for money pictures was only found in apathetic money managers, not in the other money profiles. On the base of literatures about people’s emotion of money, study2was designed to investigate the differences in emotion of money between the four money profiles. Money priming and emotional Stroop paradigm were used in this study. Results showed that there were some differences between money-repellent individuals and apathetic money managers, and money-repellent individuals and careless money admirers. No other differences were found in this study. In study3, an eye-tracking skill was used to exam the importance of money and food to different money profiles. Money, food and other four everyday items were taken into one picture as experimental materials. Participants were instructed to appreciate these pictures naturally and without intention. Eye movement data were collected during this experiment. Pupil size, first fixation ratio, fixation count%, and dwell time%from the region of interest (money and food) were analyzed as dependent variable. Results found that participant showed attention vigilance and maintain for money. In high attractive group, participants showed higher emotional arousal for food. On the contrary, in low attractive group, they showed higher emotional arousal for money. In addition, careless money admirers kept higher arousal level than the other three money profiles during this experiment.
