Study On The Effect Of Self Differentiation On Attention Bias Of Emotional Faces Under Emotional Inducing

There is often such a phenomenon in life that the same thing is handled by different people,and the result will be different.This is because people have different choices and processing of information when they are dealing with things,which results in attention bias.It can be seen that attention bias will affect people's decision-making and behavior,and then affect people's life and work.Therefore,in recent years,many scholars have made a useful exploration.Looking up the existing literature,it is found that most of the researches on attentional bias focus on the external situation or stimulus characteristics.Because the individual's behavior and cognition are the result of the interaction of internal and external factors,it is also important to explore the relationship between individual's internal factors and attentional bias.According to the theory of attention resources and the theory of personality traits,individual personality traits play an important role in the formation of attention bias.Some scholars regard self differentiation as a personality trait,and think it will affect the cognitive development of individuals.Considering the characteristics of high and low levels of differentiation and their different responses to emotional color stimuli,this paper introduces the variable of self differentiation to explore the effect of self differentiation on attention bias of emotional faces.However,there is still a great controversy on the processing and treatment of external stimuli by individuals with different levels of self differentiation.Some scholars think that individuals with high differentiation level can focus on and deal with things rationally without any emotional response in the face of different external stimuli;some scholars think that when the pressure is large enough,individuals with high differentiation level will also have physical and emotional problems,thus affecting their cognitive activities.In view of this,attention resource theory and emotional consistency theory give a good explanation,that is,individuals tend to choose information consistent with their emotional valence,and make corresponding behavioral and cognitive responses.Based on this,this study introduces the factor ofemotional inducing to explore the characteristics of attention bias of individuals at different levels of differentiation when they are induced to different emotional states?There are two experiments in this study: Experiment 1 takes emotional faces with social significance as experimental materials,and uses the point detection paradigm to investigate the effect of self differentiation on the attentional bias of emotional faces.In Experiment 2,based on Experiment 1,short film was used as the material of emotional inducing to further explore the effect of self differentiation level on attention bias in different emotional states.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Different levels of self differentiation have significant differences in the attentional bias of emotional faces.Individuals with low level of self differentiation showed vigilance to happy faces and avoidance to angry faces,while individuals with high level of self differentiation showed no attention bias to emotional faces,indicating that they gave the same attention to emotional faces;(2)Under the condition of positive emotion inducing,there was no significant difference in attentional bias among individuals with different levels of self differentiation,but they all showed a higher priority on happy faces,and no avoidance bias on angry faces.(3)The attention bias of individuals with different levels of self differentiation was not significantly different under the activation of negative emotions,which showed that they kept away from and avoided angry faces and happy faces,while the avoidance of angry faces of individuals with low differentiation level was more obvious than that of individuals with high differentiation level.(4)There was a significant difference in attentional bias between individuals with high and low levels of self differentiation.On the attention bias of angry faces,low self differentiation level individuals have avoidance bias,while high self differentiation level individuals do not have any attention bias;on the attention bias of happy faces,low self differentiation level individuals have alert bias,and high differentiation level individuals do not have any attention bias.
