Analyze Problems Faced By China's Cultural Diplomacy And Its Causes

Cultural diplomacy must be carried out by sovereign states and its main purpose is tostrengthen the national image of one state. Cultural diplomacy is a kind of new form ofdiplomacy, which is different from traditional diplomacy. Since the establishment of NewChina, the authority has organized various cultural diplomatic activities. The spread ofConfucius Institutes all over the world points that the cultural diplomacy of China isbeginning to stand on the world stage. However, being a new emerging state, thecultural diplomacy of China is still in the growing period and it has not gained muchmature mechanism. It is necessary for us to think about the problems that ConfuciusInstitute is faced with when it is trying to introduce Chinese culture to other countries andareas. This thesis tries to reveal the root reasons of the difficulties that Chinese culturaldiplomacy together with Confucius Institute are facing with the help of relevantintercultural communication theories. The author gives some suggestions to the authorityof the government as well as Confucius Institute and hope that the argument can drawpeople’s more attention to focusing on Chinese cultural diplomacy.
