Research On College Students’ Validity Of Network Political Participation

With the rapid development of Internet technology, a new form of democraticparticipation, network political participation emerges as the times require. This newform of political participation attracts college students for its unique charm. Relying onInternet platform and various portal sites, college students point out the problems of thesociety, express their demands, and bring a fresh air to the development of democraticpolitics in China. At the same time， it also exists the anomie phenomenon of networkpolitical participation behavior. Therefore, how to correctly guide the behavior of youngcollege students’ political participation, enhance the effectiveness of their networkpolitical participation, has draw the attention of party and government, and alsobecomes a major topic for scholars.Based on this background and basic theories of political participation and networkdemocracy, this paper reveals the influence factors and measure standards of the validityof network political participation of college students. On this basis, taking Hubei localcollege students as a sample, through empirical analysis, the paper discusses theproblems of validity of network political participation of college students and theimpact on network political participation of students’ demographic variables, aims to putforward concrete suggestions for enhancing the validity of network politicalparticipation of college students.Specifically, the paper consists of six parts:The first part is an introduction. This part mainly describes the background andsignificance, research review, research ideas and innovation of the articles.The second part analyzes the general theory of the validity of network politicalparticipation of College students. Firstly, the three main concepts, the politicalparticipation, network political participation and the validity of network politicalparticipation, have been defined. Secondly, two basic related theories of politicalparticipation network democracy theory and the theory of the network society have beenstated. Four kinds of forms of the network politics participation: Internet voting,network association, network forum and network site are concluded. At last, itsummarizes three characteristics of network political participation, namely: convenientand cheap participation tools, equality and anonymous participants, interactive anddirect participationThe third part presents the influence factors and criteria of network politicalparticipation validity. The author analyzes on the main factors from participants and thegovernment, measure network political participation validity from the participationbody quality, political system resistance and the participation results influence thedecision of the government judge or not.The fourth part is the empirical analysis of the validity of network politicalparticipation of College students. Taking Hubei local universities as samples, the authormakes a questionnaire to investigate the consciousness of political participation of the university students under the network environment, political participation content,political participation behavior and political participation results, uses SPSS19.0software to analyze the data of investigation, and then reveals the problems of validityof network political participation of college students. Namely, non rational politicalparticipation; participation motivation is profit driven; political efficacy low; thephenomenon of the political apathy still exists.The author put forward some basic strategies to improving the validity of networkpolitical participation of college students in the fifth part. According to the conclusionsof empirical analysis, the author proposes to specific countermeasures to strengthen theeffectiveness of the political participation of college students from the government,society, school and the students themselves.The sixth part is the conclusion of the paper. A conclusion is conducted in this part.What’s more, the problems that the further study should be solved are pointed out.
