The socialist core value system, endowed with specific meaning was put forwardin the Communist Party’s Sixth Plenary of Sixteen Session for the first time. TheCommunist Party’s17thNational Congress proposed that,” We are supposed tointegrate the socialist core value system with the national education, spiritualcivilization construction and the people’s self-conscious pursuit; we are supposed toactively explore the socialist core value system, to lead the social ideological trend ineffective ways and to enhance socialist ideology more attractive and cohesive.” TheSixth Plenary Session of17also submitted that the socialist core value system as thesoul of our country and the essence of the advanced socialist culture determines thedevelopment of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Thus, we have to blend thesocialist core value system into the national education, the spiritual civilizationconstruction, the Communist Party’s construction, the reform and opening up and intothe construction of socialist modernization in various areas. The socialist core valuesystem should be embodied in the production of cultural products of all areas. Weneed stick with the socialist core value system leading the social ideological trend. Inthis way, the Communist Party and even the whole society will be unified in theguiding ideology, the common ideal faith, strong spiritual force and the basic moralnorms.” The18thCongress Plenary of the Communist Party stresses that the socialistcore value system, being the soul of our country determines the development ofsocialism with Chinese characteristics. We should work hard to study the system ofsocialist core values education. We should use the socialist core value system to leadthe social ideological trend embodying the social consensus. Therefore, in order tocomplete this important historical mission, we should choose the correct path topopularize the socialist core value system. In other words, we should make the theorysystem sound common, universal and easy to understand.
