Marked by the rapid development and continuous update of the computer and information technology, the Information Revolution, also called the third Industrial Revolution, has got further development gradually. It has a far-reaching influence on international relationships centering on sovereign states. In this paper, the US, the birthplace of the Internet, and China, the largest Internet users are chosen as research subjects, and it then conducts research on cyberspace cooperation between the two countries.Based on the collection and research of cases, the current ways of Sino-US cyberspace cooperation are mainly divided into two kinds: informal bilateral cooperation and bilateral formal dialogue mechanism. Through further comparative analysis of cases, Sino-US cyberspace cooperation mainly stays in the level of bilateral informal cooperation, and has not formed formal bilateral cooperation. The establishment of US-China Internet Industry Forum is a milestone in the transformation of Sino-US cyberspace cooperation from bilateral informal to the formal way. Exchanges and negotiations of the Sino-US cyberspace cooperation will lay a foundation for achieving formal bilateral cooperation.Factors impeding the realization of Sino-US cyberspace cooperation are mainly from their different network security strategies. After the Cold War, the US becomes a superpower in the world. Since the Clinton administration, the US fundamental goal of network security strategy has been keeping the advanced scientific and technological level, and maintaining its superpower status in the international system. Through implementing various policies, the US has achieved the absolute control in aspects of technology, resource and network management. Nowadays, the US has become a veritable information power. Compared with the US initiative, aggressive network security strategies, Chinese strategic thoughts focus on the active defense, whose basic goal is to exploit Internet to promote the national information construction, and improve comprehensive strength of China. Moreover, there are some key factors which influence Sino-US cyberspace cooperation, such as contradiction and friction of technical barriers, the US utilizes Internet freedom to conduct ideological and cultural infiltration towards other countries, and the US exaggerates Chinese Internet threat continuously.Although the road to achieve Sino-US cyberspace cooperation is rough and rugged, it has been the general trend to achieve bilateral formal cooperation.
