The paper mainly study Wang yunsheng’s political idea and practice of "literati politics"before1949,namely,the fit of the liberalism and the nationalism.The purpose is to see thedevelopment process and the internal logic of the two large social ideologicaltrend,namely,the liberalism and the nationalism in the press practice.Modern Chinese publicdomain and the mass media has a certain development.As the best mass media,Da KungBao in Xin-ji period advocated "four-No-ism"("not to attent the Party","not to sell","notPrivate","not blind"),and the "four-No-ism" had became the main platform of "literatipolitics" for liberals.Because of complex environment of modern China,Wang Yunsheng whogrew up under that background,gradually identified with the social role of free journalist andtook on the mission,and his nationalist consciousness and liberal thought graduallyformed,experienced the changes,and Both of them began to fit in the formation and expansionprocess,so the fit of the liberalism and the nationalism had become Wang yunsheng’s politicalidea.The two tendencies of his political ideas was in shift.He needed to adjust his politicalideas.His performance on the practice of "literati politics" was the adjustment of his politicalideas,which everywhere penetrated the fit shape in the presentation of nationalism and theexpression of liberalism.As the individual of free journalist,Wang yunsheng had madevaluable efforts on the democratization and the construction of modern nation-state inChina.His historical value is worthy of our respect and affirmation.In the body part,it is divided into five chapters.In the first chapter,the title is namedIdentity cognition of intellectuals in the media:Free journalist.I briefly analyse the relationshipbetween public domain and mass media in modern China,and elaborate the "literati politics"of Da Kung Bao in Xin-ji period.Based on that two background,I mainly introduce thedefinition and the basic characteristics,and the role-taken of free journalist,Showing theprocess that Wang Yunsheng in the early time had gradually taken to identify as the freejournalist.In the second chapter,the title is named political philosophy: integration of the liberalismand nationalism.As a whole,I am named after "liberal nationalism" to illustrate the fit of theliberalism and the nationalism is the interaction of the two.I respectively analyze theformation and change process about the two major parts--liberalism ideas and nationalismconsciousness as the political idea of Wang yunsheng,analyze the ebb and flow of the two kind of mindset in Wang yunsheng’s political idea,and come to the conclusion thatintegration of the liberalism and nationalism have run through his political idea and hispractice of "literati politics" as a main string.In the third chapter,the title is named Wang yunsheng’s practice of "literati politics":thepresentation of nationalism.From three aspects,such as academic writing of thenationalism,national construction strategy of the nationalism,political position of thenationalism,I show wang yunsheng the spread of the nationalism under inheriting the traditionof "literati politics".In the fourth chapter,the title is named Wang yunsheng’s practice of "literati politics":theexpression of liberalism.From two aspects,such as political criticism for the role of Freenewspaper,political position of liberalism,I show wang yunsheng the expression of theliberalism under inheriting the tradition of "literati politics".In the fifth chapter,the title is named the evaluation on the political idea and the practiceof "literati politics" of Wang yunsheng.I made the evaluation and point out the historicalsignificance and limitations as well as contemporary enlightenment.
