From the semantic perspective, to explore the legal language is a sortof good academic perspective, and it provides the theoretical foundation forthe study of the standardization of legal language as well. Therefore, we should start our research on the relevant issues of the standardization of legallanguage from a semantic perspective, in order to provide a strong legal reasoning for the development of legal linguistics. This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter mainly elaborates the semantic features of legal language. Any form of language has its own function. The function of legal language is to understand the object by virtue of the semantics of the legal language. Compared with the common language, legal language has its own semantic f features, that is, the semantic certainty, the semantic uniqueness, the semantic closure, and the semantic authority of legal language. The second chapter mainly elaborates the semantic constitution of legal language. From the semantic point of view, the semantic constitution of legal language cannot go without common language, because it is seen as apart of common language semantics. However, compared with the commonlanguage, legal language has its own semantic features, that is, the semantic stipulation subject, the semantic discovery, semantic re-engagement, the semantic interpretation, and all the features finally conclude the semantic constitution of legal language. The third chapter mainly elaborates the semantic classification of legallanguage. The main categories include the person and object in legal language, the semantic behavior in legal language, the time and spatial semanticsin legal language, the shape semantics in legal language, modal semanticsin legal language. The fourth chapter mainly elaborates the semantic barriers of legal language. This chapter will discuss the semantic imperfection of the legal language, such as the ambiguity and misunderstanding, etc.
