The Preliminary Development Of The Questionnaire About The Quality Evaluation Of New Citizen

In the process of urban-rural integration, the quality of new citizen can reflect thedegree of civilization of a city of high and low and it’s an important measure of the level ofmodernization. The quality of new citizen directly impacts and limits their way and qualityof life and also their working level. The study on the evaluation index and criteria of thisgroup is very limited so far in our country, so the thesis takes new citizen as the object ofstudy and will launch the study from the following aspects:First of all, by document research, open questionnaire survey and semi-structureinterview, the author preliminarily constructs the theoretical model of the study of newcitizens’ quality and finish the self-edited questionnaire about the quality evaluation of newcitizen. The author conducts a survey on220new citizens in Jiangyin and comes to aquestionnaire with second-order factor structure by factor analysis. It is composed of fivedimensions, thirteen factors and sixty items. The specific contents are as follows: fivedimensions include physical and mental health quality, scientific culture quality, moralquality, politics and law consciousness quality and ecological environment consciousnessquality; thirteen factors include interpersonal communication, self-knowledge, self-care,artistic appreciation, scientific consciousness, social morality, family virtue, professionalethics, civilized behavior, political preparation, legal consciousness, environmentalconsciousness and environmental protection behavior. Upon examination, the self-editedquestionnaire has good reliability and validity.Secondly, the author analyzes the present situation according to201validquestionnaires and the results show that the new citizens in Jiangyin have middle to highlevel of quality; the quality of new citizen has no obvious difference in the matter ofgender, working life and marital; There are some differences in the matter of age, monthlyincome and qualification and some significant differences on some factors.This has encouraged a view that setting up the consciousness of modern citizens,mastering professional skills, developing good behavior and cultivating a healthy personality is vitally important to promote the quality of new citizen.Finally, the author explores the important reference of the study on the promotion ofnew citizen’s quality and offers the suggestion that people should combine self-educationwith external education, local work with global work，self consciousness with externaldiscipline and combine soft environment with hard environment.
