Research On The Mechanism Of China Local Government Competition Under The Regional Coordination Perspective

China’s local governments have a high degree of participation and a strong influence on the local economy because of the administrative authority and financial powers.But I think the "Political Championship"based on the performance evaluation of local officials’ political tournament is the intrinsic motivation which leads to fierce competition among local governments.This mechanism produced a powerful incentive for local officials to promote their own area’s economic growth,but at the same time,local officials take a lot of measures which are harmful for regional cooperation in order to be winner in the "Political Championship"game. In this paper,the basic theory of the political Championship including its applicable precondition,incentive forms for local officials and incentive costs incurred is analyzed,Only in this way can we put forward some relevant policy recommendations to realize the coordinated development among different regions.
