Under the dual regulation from school and family, adolescents have the study life based on learning activities highlighted. Teachers and parents not only pay more attention to but also become familiar with their study life. In contrast, the personal life and group life of adolescents which take emotional activities as the core (named "life of adolescents") is often in the shade of study life. This condition, on the one hand, leads to the gap, the contradiction and even conflict between adults and adolescents, on the other hand exacerbated the self-enclosing of life of adolescents. More education issues of adolescents are implicated. In this study, with561students from3high schools in Shanghai as objects, and with the use of questionnaires, interviews and text analysis, the characteristics of the life of adolescents is revealed, the progress of it being masked as well as the reasons why it is masked is analyzed, and on this basis, some reasonable suggestion about the role of adults in the life of adolescents is given. The study first summarizes the basic characteristics of the life of adolescents. It is found that the life of adolescents is completely different from study life with rich, publicity, groups; and it is obscured by the study life to be hidden and closed. The study explores the basic characteristics from4aspects of values, language style, peer interaction and leisure activities as follows.(1) In terms of values, the adolescents pursue individual happiness, liberty and pragmatic, personalized ideals, and desire for friendship.(2) In terms of language style, adolescents create a symbolic discourse system full of novelty and fun to construct group identity.(3) In terms of peer interaction, they have their own closed groups and comfort each other in the groups.(4) In terms of leisure activities, adolescents prefer fast and simple entertainments, like to explore the fantasy world, and respect personal style so that they can express themselves and release emotion. The study further analyzes how the life of adolescents separates from study life and be masked. It is a process that adults try to shape adolescents and adolescents struggle and construct their own life. The process of interaction is realized mainly through5paths:(1) Personal time is so carefully planned and tightly controlled by study that adolescents can only seek the fragmentation of self survival.(2) Teachers and parents intentionally or unintentionally spy on adolescents’private space, leading them to take a more clever way to hide their space.(3) Teacher-student interaction and parent-child interaction are only around study and academic achievement, so adolescents choose to close their world to adults.(4) Activities are prohibited or constrainted, so adolescents have to take the resistance strategies of duplicity.(5) The rules led by teachers, parents make a false equality, and adolescents can only compromise. There are three reasons leading to the process of contradiction between adults and adolescents. First, utilitarian learning points to the object of exam, pursues high efficiency and the sole criterion, so adolescents cannot have present, free, emotional, various possible life choices. Second, adults ignore the identity of adolescents; always suppress the autonomy of adolescents with authority. Third, the diversification and multiplicity of society leaves isolation space. Finally, this study proposes that adults should find the real life that the adolescents need, reconstruct the whole life of them, so that they could have complete, harmonious and balanced life. At the same time, more guides should be given to adolescents. Adults should search for a balance in strict requirement and respect and tolerance, establish the communication mechanism from heart to heart, and guide adolescents to have a more meaningful life.
