This paper mainly studies the average students ability level evaluation standardof table tennis. It takes the rating mode of professional athletes and the levelevaluation standard of national youth table tennis players for reference. Combinedwith the characteristics of table tennis in university, building the level evaluationstandard for university average students ’ ability of table tennis.In this study, Related documentations were used as the research foundation,analysis of building athletic ability evaluation standard and designed the method ofweight, preliminarily determined the evaluation index range. Questionnaire methodand expert taking were used as the preparation of initial questionnaire, and selectionof test indicators. Measurement method and Statistics method were used as datarelated and then subjects tested, empowerment evaluation index weight and buildingthe level evaluation standard of average students. Demonstration research were usedas test the usability of level evaluation standard.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The average students sports ability level evaluation standard of table tennisconstituted by two dimensions,such as physical quality and technical standards, anddivided into one, two, three levels. The physical quality includes four aspects, such asCharacter check、throw the badminton、rope skipping and standing long jump. Thetechnical standards includes five aspects, such as forehand attack、backhand attack、backhand slow rubbing、push the right and left、pushed out of the side-bashing.(2)The respectively weight of male and female in level evaluation standard:Character check15%、13;throw the badminton13%、12%; rope skipping12%、15%;forehand attack12%、9%;backhand attack9%、8%;backhand slow rubbing9%、12%;push the right and left7%、13%; pushed out of the side-bashing10%、8%. (3)In the level evaluation standard and the results, the first level interval of maleas grade88-100,the second level interval as76-87,the third level interval as64-75;The first level interval of female as grade90-100,the second level interval as80-89,the third level interval as68-79.(4)Demonstration research were used as verification the usability of levelevaluation standard. After the scale of events identified by the relevantDepartment,the third level were identified by top three players in faculty match. Thefirst level were identified by top two players in campus match. the second level wereidentified by three and four grade players; The third level were identified by five toeight grade players. In this study, The resultant evaluation can be an example andreference to the level evaluation of table tennis.However,the study mainly focuses onseveral cases, so the results could only be valid within certain cases.
