Tennis which was conceived in France, born in England, popularized in UnitedStates, has a long history. It incorporates various cultural factors from differentcountries and formed its unique sports culture connotation. As an “exotica”, tennis iscivilized and elegance which has rich culture. It’s not only traditional but also fashioned;it can not only strengthen college students’ physical health, enrich their cultural life, butalso can cultivate them many kinds of inner spiritual quality, causing them to becomeall-rounded global development citizens in body and soul.It has be proved that tennis is become a big popularized sport from an edged“noble sport”. Nowadays, tennis has gradually become one of the important contents ofthe current campus sports culture. It not only has become a deeply beloved sport, buthas been becoming an important segment of promoting the construction of campussports.College sports are the important key point among in competitive sports, schoolphysical education and mass sports, which are important to our country’s sports’promote. The tennis which of entertainment and fitness, has integrated into campussports and became an important content of campus sports culture. However, the “hardpower” limitations, such as sites, equipments, teachers and also, and the “soft power”limitations such as understanding of culture, limited the college tennis sport.Based on the former references and research achievements in the field, andregarding tennis culture as the breakthrough point, the paper explores the inner relationsbetween tennis culture and campus sports culture. By using of documents, questionnaireand statistics methods, it deeply analyzes the tennis cultural connotation and its featuresas well as makes researches into the ratio and the motivation of college students’attention and participation in it, discusses the quantity of tennis court and its quality andthe rate of tennis teachers and students, and also makes investigations and analysis tocampus tennis tournaments and the tennis club. The possibility and urgency ofcombining the current tennis sport and campus sports have been put forwards to. Theresults shows that with the upgrading of the hard and soft power of tennis, the campustennis population would be increasing and, the development of tennis sport would bemore effectively promoted, which is more conductive to tennis cultural inheritance.
