The Enlightenment Of Rousseau’s Theories Of Natural Education On The Contemporary Moral Education In Middle School

As an epoch-making naturalism educator and thinker of France in the18th century, Jean Jacques Rousseau’s elaboration on "Natural Education" is full of philosophic wisdom and profound meaning, which demonstrates human nature and essence. Even today, his thoughts of natural education still have great enlightenment and directive significance on the contemporary moral education in middle school. It is also an important supplement to Marx’s educational theories about man’s development in an all-around way.Combined with relevant literature research and present research of moral education in middle school, this thesis is made up of three parts:the first part introduces the historical backgrounds, basis, basic content and fundamental connotation of Rousseau’s theories of natural education, discusses different periods of natural education and educational content of each period, and exposits the goals of his natural education, in which "the method of natural consequences" is a proper application of educational regularity, while the thoughts of the harmony between nature and society corroborates the contemporary educational concepts; the second part explains the evaluation of Rousseau’s theories of natural education, including positive influences and open questions; the third part analyzes the enlightenment of Rousseau’s theories of natural education on the contemporary moral education in middle school, that is, education should be connected with social cultures, guide students according to their nature, and aim to train qualified citizens.Rousseau’s theories of natural education are of extensive knowledge and profound scholarship, so we need to do more research on them and try to find a better way to apply them to our practical moral education in middle school.
