Poetry and prose innovation of Northern Song Dynasty occurred in the middle of Song Dynasty, mainly against the magnificent style of Xikun style. In the aspect of creativity of poetry and prose, Ouyang xiu, together with his proteges, advocated learning ancient prose and put forward many profound literary theories. For example, literatures reflect reality, and the language is simple. Northern Song Dynasty’s poetry and prose innovation succeeded in changing the magnificent style at that time, becoming the literary masterpiece of later poetry creativity. The theories also have great enlightened significance about the problems existing in the teaching and studying compositions in high schools.Writing is the focus of Chinese teaching, and holds an important place in Chinese teaching in high schools. Writing is so important that teachers and students spend a lot of energy on the essay. However, there exist all kinds of problems on teaching and studying compositions in high schools. They cannot be ignored. This paper points out compositions with a new stereotype tendency and composition problems in high schools. Compositions with a new stereotype tendency are lack of innovation. And the composition problems are lack of thought, depth and comprehension; piled article material, appearing tedious; lack of interest in writing, and so on. The thesis problems are the result of long-term accumulation, and seriously affect students’ writing ability to ascend. The problems need to be corrected in a timely manner.This paper attempts to learn from the literary creativity theories of Northern Song Dynasty’s poetry and prose innovation, guiding composition instruction, and exploring their realistic enlightenment:reflecting the reality; comprehending the world; simplicity and having ways; reading the classic. The purpose of this paper is to use the ancient literary theories to guide composition instruction in high schools, in order to fully tap the realistic value of the ancient literary theories. |
