The21stcentury is the century of ecological civilization. In order to achieve the harmoniousdevelopment of man and nature, and realize the needs of the long-term interests of humanity, weshould correctly handle the relationship between man and nature. Ecological ethics means that thebehavior of human in treating nature is constrained and regulated with the moral means to changethe human bondage attitude to nature in the past, so as to establish a harmonious developmentrelationship between nature and moral. As builders and successors of socialism with Chinesecharacteristics, contemporary college students must set up the correct ecological values, form aright ecological awareness, and cultivate ecological and moral qualities, which require colleges anduniversities to carry out a positive ecological moral education for college students. Information ageis the rapid development of mass media age, especially when the New Media is emerging with itsadvantages of unique digital, interactive and real-time delivery, the public traditional way of life issubverted essentially, and the traditional mode of education in college is also fundamentallychanged. As a link in society, New Media brings convenience to people in getting information, andat the same time, as a kind of effective subtle educational form, it also has a significant impact onthe ideological and political awareness, the measure of value, and the formation of moral values foryoung people, including university students. Therefore, due to its own characteristics and the newrequirements for the ecological moral education work, the New Media—as an important carrier,provide new opportunities and challenges for the development and have had a broad effect on thetheories and practical innovations.College ecological moral educators as mold engineer of the soul,must delve into the New Media environment ecological moral education of college students underthe new law, to enhance the result of education, so as to change the passive lag of traditionaleducation mode.Take full advantage of the impact of New Media to improve the pertinence,effectiveness and timeliness of ecological moral education in universities, and actively seek newpath and method of education.New media is the carrier of ecological moral education inuniversities.Universities are important parts of the application of new media, New Media bepromoted and rapid development, also is our country informationization level, one of the fastestgrowing, highest use of New Media technology has gradually become the ideological and politicaleducation workers and college students is one of the important ways of study and life.This thesis is divided into five parts. Part one mainly introduces the background, significance,and the method of the research. The second part is the definitions of the relating concepts, includingthe concept of ecological moral education and New Media, for the purpose of being familiar withthe related theoretical concept. The third part mainly studies the present situation of universities’ ecological moral education, it includes that consciousness of the ecological moral education shouldbe strengthened, the ways are less, the form are old and single, teachers and the correspondingteaching material need to be added and its system lags behind, as well as the problem of the disjointof he cognition and behavior and the neglect of the necessity and importance of ecological moraleducation in universities. Part four mainly studies the advantages of New Media in the ecologicalmoral education in colleges and universities, and its positive function and negative function as wellas how the educators grasp the positive function and reduce negative function. The fifth part ismainly to study the implement methods of the functions of the New Media in the moral education incolleges and universities. The sixth part primarily research the challenges faced by the New Mediain the colleges and universities and its countermeasures.
