In the21st century, the human resources are becoming more and more important,the era calls for attention to the college students’ education and ability training.Thisstudy has chosen personality,metacognition and learning strategies to discuss therelationship between students’ learning activities and academicachievements.Personality is an unique and stable psychological quality,which candifferentiate individual and others,and continue to promote the development of theindividual.Metacognition is the self-awareness and self-regulation ability of theindividual about his cognitive activities, which can improve the individual’s cognitiveefficiency. Learning strategy refers to the complex solution purposefully andconsciously proposed in the learning process in order to improve the effectiveness andefficiency of learning.There is great theoretical and practical significance to discuss therelationship among personality, metacognition, learning strategies and academicperformance.It is useful to cultivate students’ sound personality,stimulate students’learning initiative,as well as improve teaching quality.This study select and analyze an overall random sample of320college studentsfrom a university of science and technology in Sichuan Province,with the help ofMMPI,college students’ metacognition scale,college students’ learning strategiesquestionnaire and other measurement tools.After data processing and analysis,thestudy draws conclusions as follows:1.Personality traits have significant difference in gender,grades and subjects,while no significant difference in groups.Metacognition and learning strategies showsignificant differences in gender and groups,while no significant difference in gradesand subjects.2. Pd in personality traits has a significant negative correlation with eachdimension of Metacognition Scale. Moreover, Pd and Sc both have significant negativecorrelation with Innovative Strategy. There is also a significant correlation betweenlearning strategy and metacognition. 3.Personality traits,metacognition and learning strategies are significantly relatedto academic performance and all of them are able to significantly predict academicachievement.On the basis of that, the proposals are presented as follows:1. Strengthen the college students’ personality, cultivate students’ soundpersonality, as a result they can organize their own behavior with a positive attitude,regulate and control their own behavior in order to better adapt to the variousrequirements of the learning activities.2.Focus on students’ metacognitive ability, so that they are able to initiative tolearn, monitor and regulate their own behavior in the learning activities.3.Enhance students’ learning Strategies capacity-building and development, andencourage students to enhance time management, rational use resources and continuousto innovate learning methods, so as to improve the level of academic achievement anddevelop self-learning ability.
