Study On The School-Family-Community Partnerships In Ameircan Character Education

Character education has been a popular model of the moral education inAmerican since twentieth century eighty, and it is also a practicality and effectivenesseducation reform which participating by family, school and community. Comparedwith the previous moral education, character education looks like traditional charactereducation. It is not a simple reversion for traditional moral education, but critical andtraditional moral education.As an important principle of character education, cooperation among schools,family and communities, not only embodies the communitarianism feature ofcharacter education, but also demonstrates the difference between character educationand traditional education, it is an important way of character education, the purpose isto reach a moral consensus, and provide students with a good moral educationenvironment.The paper mainly includes four parts.The first party is introduction, the introduction introduce the significance of thetopic, the research purpose, significance and related concepts.The second part is about the basis for the cooperation among school, family andcommunity in character education. A brief review of the history about charactereducation and the feature it, and analysis the theory and reality basis of thecooperation among school, family and community in character education.The third part is about the practice school, family and community cooperation incharacter education, in this part, several strategies of cooperation between schools andfamilies, schools and communities are summarized, and illustrated by examples.The fourth part is about some feature and problems of the cooperation amongschool, family and community in character education. This part combined with thecontent of above three parts, summarizes the salient feature and problems in thecooperation.
