In recent years, the misunderstanding, contradiction and conflict between theuniversity’s academic person and administrative person has become a phenomenonthat cannot be ignored. The root of this phenomena is the cultural differences betweenthe academic and administrative. In the development of modern university, in oneaspect, we emphasis on the co-operation of academic and administrative; and on theother hand, we should also realize the cultural distinction between the academic andadministrative person objectively, and to face, narrow or even to resolve the gap ofthe two. Therefore, studying the cultural differences between the academic andadministrative person and the potential problems it may produce from the perspectiveof the view which takes values as the core, have important theoretical and practicalsignificance.This paper was designed to investigate the cultural differences between theuniversity’s academic person and administrative person based on theoretical analysisand empirical investigation. This empirical study was carried out from the followingfive aspects: teaching and scientific research, management system, mutual evaluation,school development and self development. The results showed that the culturaldifferences between the academic and administrative person is not polarized, butcrossbar, nonlinear ones. And this difference also showed the significant feature of therelationship between the academic and administrative person,for example,academictheory of "teacher" and "system theory" of administrative person; In addition, theacademic and administrative person have obvious differences in "improving thequality of university teaching","administrative person of quality of service forteaching and scientific research","the income level of lecturer and chief","theirrespective status in school" and "teacher evaluation system","the attribution ofconflict", etc. Further analysis also found that the cultural differences between theacademic and administrative person is also affected by factors such as degree, age.The negative effects of the cultural differences between academic person andadministrative person will hamper their mutual understanding and will bad for theestablishment of trust between organizations, which will affect the process of thedevelopment of the university indirectly. In this case, this paper tries to put forwardsome measures to narrow the cultural differences between the academic andadministrative, including strengthen the mutual-understanding, establish mutual evaluation mechanism, perform the function of the intermediary role of moderatetransfer, focus on "key points", and classified fusion.
