Teacher professional development is one of the central issues of current world education reform,《The national medium long-term education reform and development plan outline (2010-2020)》(hereinafter referred to as 《the outline》) said:"The key of China’s future development and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese depends on talents and the root lies in education."The contribution of Education to the country and people is no doubt, and the teachers as the backbone of the implementation of education, their professional knowledge’s level plays an important role in education reform and the development of students. Therefore, to establish a high quality teacher troop is the priority of education development. In particular, the teacher’s development of some weak areas (such as the north of Jiangsu province) more becomes to be the priority of the new situation education development. As the new high school curriculum standard puts forward new requirements for teachers. The degree of teachers’professional knowledge is also facing new challenges.Then, how is the state of the teacher’s professional knowledge? Whether meet the requirements of new curriculum standard? What’s different of the current situation of the teachers’professional knowledge of northern and southern Jiangsu province? What are the strategies to raise the teacher’s professional knowledge level?On the above research background and purpose, the paper, through literature review, questionnaires and other methods, analyses the related topics research of domestic and foreign experts and senior scholars synthetically, and analyses the shortage and trend of this topic research, and Finally confirm the theme that is investigation on the current situation of high school mathematics teachers’ professional knowledge Jiangsu province. This paper mainly focuses on four aspects study of teachers’professional knowledge, such as mathematics knowledge, pedagogy knowledge, psychology knowledge and other disciplines knowledge. The paper adopt the method of questionnaire, randomly selected120high school teachers of different areas, different schools, different teaching age, different education, different titles (southern Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu each60), recycling effective questionnaire104(52copy each of the southern Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu), the research processes and analysis the results from different angles with the SPSS and EXCEL statistical software.Based on the multiple perspectives analysis of the survey data from, first of all, This paper summarizes the eight problems of teachers’professional knowledge from two aspects of all teachers overall analysis and the contrast analysis of northern and southern Jiangsu province teachers:(1) the knowledge structure imbalance;(2) the self-reflection ability needs to improve;(3) the new and old teacher each has advantages;(4) degree affect the level of teachers’knowledge;(5) the title influence teachers’knowledge level;(6) hope above ability;(7) the teachers of northern and southern Jiangsu province have the different emphasis;(8) teacher’s professional knowledge level of southern Jiangsu province is higher than northern.According to the above eight problems, the paper analyzes the reasons for each problem. Finally, put forward some ideas to improve the professional knowledge level of high school mathematics teachers Jiangsu province.This study both having theoretical innovation and very clear practical significance, these are the most obvious characteristics of this paper. Hoping that this study can make everyone to have a rational understanding of the gap between north and south of teachers, provide valuable information for later related further study, and then promote the further development of middle school teachers’ability.
