Since the twenty-first century, the quality of preschool teachers has become a hotspot in the field of education policy research. The developed countries in the world formulated and implemented government policy actively for the professional development of preschool teachers. The government enacted laws, provided funding and established a management system to ensure the policy effectively. And the government intervention is beneficial to promoting the quality of preschool teachers and preschool education actually.This paper will introduce and study the history and present situation of the policy about the professional development for preschool teachers in America. In the meanwhile, it also discusses the characteristics and existing problems of the professional development for preschool teachers by taking New Jersey as an example, and analyzes the related points in the field between China and America, to find a new path suited to China’s preschool reform. It would be useful to enrich our professional development policy and promote the preschool teachers professional development. |
