Vocabulary is the key to learn a foreign language. It is the foundation for learners to develop skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation activities. According to the requirement of vocabulary from the ordinary senior school English curriculum standards, senior school graduates should use3000words and400-500idioms or fixed collocation. However, nowadays most of the students can not understand or use vocabulary collocation correctly. Therefore, it is particularly important to conduct effective vocabulary teaching for developing students’ ability to use collocation. In view of this, this study aims to explore:1) the present situation and existing problems of senior school English vocabulary collocation teaching;2) the application mode of and the role of corpus in English vocabulary collocation teaching;3) the learners’view about data-driven vocabulary collocation learning and problems of the usage in collocation teaching that should be paid attention to.This study is carried out based on data-driven learning theory. Through the empirical research, it analyzes and discusses the patterns and effects of the corpus-based senior school English vocabulary collocation teaching. It also summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the application model by qualitative research and quantitative analysis. The research finds that:1) most of the senior school students are interested in English learning and have a certain amount of vocabulary, but they cannot use collocation in real practical context correctly;2) students can get improvement in memory and usage ability from the corpus-based vocabulary collocation teaching;3) most learners hold a positive attitude towards data-driven vocabulary collocation learning, but the teacher should also optimize the teaching resources and combine the data-driven vocabulary collocation teaching and other teaching modes together. To sum up, the author thinks that this study has extended corpus application in the field of theoretical significance and optimized the practical value of vocabulary collocation teaching.
