The competition among countries is to compete on talents, especially the innovativetalents. Based on this situation, the status and influence of advanced engineering educationhave become more obvious and attracted more attention. This thesis has analyzed thecultivating model of engineering leadership between United States and Russia.Through the summary of literature review, the writer finds that most literature onlynarrated, analyzed or explained the concept or development of engineering leadership, but notthe problems that should be found which combine with the interior political and economicfactors, especially for the typical countries like United States and Russia. And this thesis is acomparative study on the similarities and differences of cultivating model of engineeringleadership between United States and Russia.Through topic on exploitation of engineering leadership, introduction of engineeringleadership’s concept and assurance of ability requirements of engineering leadership, thisthesis analyzed the plan of United States and Russia for engineering leadership, summarizedthe features and experience and did a comprehensive analysis on the plan, feature andoperation in order to improve the cognition of engineering students and cultivate eliteengineering students to be the engineering leaders for future, according to the nationalsituation and the needs for knowledge, cognition and talent. Meanwhile, it also analyzed fromthe initial cultivating situation to cultivating models of engineering leadership between thetwo counties and summarized the new requirements for engineers with the development ofsociety and economy.
