Some reports of London Olympic2012, selected in the media, such as China Daily, Sinasports, etc. are analyzed from the aspects of content and communication situation. They arealso examined through the efforts in the publicity and the presentation of national image. Theshortcomings are pointed out to make some constructive policy and achieve the better effectin broadcasting so that a new perspective can be provided in the molding of Chinese nationalimage.The author made some analysis of relevant literature to get information in an indirect waythrough the Document Literature. A large number of related documents are collected to takeadvantage in various of journals, newspapers, Internet. In order to find more important theoryand evidence, the author looked up a lot of documents, materials and thesis relating to theOlympic Games and the national image. In addition, the Case Analysis is also used in thisarticle. Some typical cases in London Olympic2012are studied so that we can sum up thelesson and provide some experience in the molding of Chinese national image by thebroadcasting of Olympic Games.The Olympic Games show not only the modern of the world, but also the combination ofthe Chinese tradition and world’s modern civilization. Through the Olympic Games, the wideinvestment market and infinite business opportunities should be shown to millions. Chinesealso has a huge mind to accommodate foreign culture. This article discusses the function ofmolding of Chinese national image from the perspective of Communication. From theintroduce of a conception of national image, some typical cases are commented under thebackground of London Olympic2012to illustrate the importance of the media on the molding of Chinese national image in order that Chinese national image can be better broadcasting inthe future.
