Study On The Presentation Of The National Image In The Eight-Minute Olympic Games

With the deepening of globalization,the world is becoming a global village.With the increase of communication and cooperation opportunities between countries,national image has been attached unprecedented importance.A good national image is an important manifestation of a country's soft power,as well as the cornerstone of its foreign exchange and cooperation,and plays an important role in the country's development.Since the reform and opening up,China has made remarkable achievements in its development.However,along with these achievements,China's national image has been frequently misinterpreted,even vilified and criticized by the outside world.Therefore,it is urgent and important to build a good national image and let the world know the real China.The essence of national image communication is the communication,exchange and sharing of information.In today's society,developed the plasticity of symbol system and the symbol for the national image communication provides an important means and resources,especially to people sense organs of audio and visual symbols have vivid,visual characteristics,can make people's understanding of information across the region,environment,such as digestion culture communication obstacles of understanding the intention of the communicator to effective implementation.As a global media event,the Olympic Games provides an opportunity for the host country to show itself solemnly to the world and becomes a good stage to present and spread the image of the host country.In particular,the "Olympic eight minutes" on this stage has become an important carrier to present the national image of the host country.This article uses the literature analysis method and the case analysis method to explore the Olympic Games eight minutes uses the audio-visual symbol to present the national image question.The first chapter introduces the background,significance and methods of this research.The second chapter mainly explains the elements of national image and discusses the positive effects of Olympic Games on national image communication.Chapter three and chapter four take the eight-minute performance of the closing ceremony of the Athens Olympic Games and the pyeongchang Olympic Games as an example to analyze the signifier and signified of the audio-visual symbols(embodied in the aspects of shape,light and color,etc.),and then analyze how they present the three-dimensional and multi-level national image.The fifth chapter analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of the eight-minute Olympic Games use of audio-visual symbols to spread national image.Chapter six,based on the above analysis,puts forward the strategy of improving the national image in the eight-minute presentation of the Olympic Games from a cross-cultural perspective.
