In a highly civilized-development society, human being is not only as individual existence, but also as social existence. Individuals in such a society live under common and normal behavior standards, enjoying individual rights and fulfilling social duties.In this paper, we focus on the civic education in France, and study the background and implementation of civic education in the stage of elementary education. Literature research approaches and empirical research methods are adopted to analyze and study the proposed problem in our research. Firstly, we review the development and history of civic education in France. Some factors, such as politics, objectives, content and programming, are analyzed in different development stages of civic education. Secondly, we study the background of the implementation of civic education in France, based on field research by practical investigations with abundant questionnaire. Thirdly, we study the implementation of civic education in the stage of elementary education in France. It includes teaching courses, after-course activities, extra-school activity and family education. Finally, we explore and provide some valuable suggestions for the civic education in the stage of elementary education in China, based on the comparison of those implemented in France. |
