| Research Purpose: In colleges with majors related to exercise training, distinct characteristicscould be observed in the students with these majors. They are equipped with outstanding specificskills in sports, but lack of fundamental educations. Most of these students do not have properbehavioral habits, so special measurements need to be made to ensure the harmony of the wholecollege. In this paper, a new quantitative assessment system for the behavior of college studentsis established through questionnaires of experts, and is compared with other such assessmentsystems applied in other colleges. The aim of this paper is to find the problems of existingassessment systems and to build a new and more reasonable system, which will help the collegesto conduct better quantitative assessments of the behaviors of college students and more effectivesupervision on the behaviors of their students. It is believed that under this system, better habitsof the students could be formed, which will lay solid foundations of their entering the society.Research methods: In this paper, a combinatory application of literature reading, expertinterviews, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics is conducted to obtain thequantitative assessment system for the behavior of college students. This system is based on theregulatory frameworks, warned by all kinds of punishments, and quantitatively transformedthrough periods.Research results:1.All levels of indicators in this system are set through expert questionnairesand interviews. The highest level includes: life behavior, behavior tracking and behaviorregulation; the second level consists of morning exercises, attending classes, houses and cleaning, retire for the night, attending activities, inspection of daily behavior, storages and publicities ofinspection results, oral warning and written warning.2.There are three main problems in existingquantitative assessment systems for the behavior of college students. Firstly, too many subjectivefactors exist in the evaluation of students’ behaviors. Secondly, some problems still exist in theestablishment of detailed rules of the quantitative assessment systems. Finally, the system ofnotification and publicity need further development.3.Four levels, among which include“excellentâ€,“goodâ€,â€fair†andâ€failedâ€, can be applied to evaluate students through overallconsideration of academic performances and quantitative assessment results.Research conclusions:1.A new quantitative assessment system for the behavior of collegestudents is established for students majored in sports training related areas.2.Criteria of thisassessment system are obtained.3.Systematic application of this assessment system is conducted combined by the regulation rules of the Department of Sports Training in Shenyang SportUniversity.Research suggestions:1.Quantitative assessments shall be established specific to students. Morerules and detailed regulations should be made.2.Subjective factors should be removed fromquantitative assessments.3.Assessment results should be valid and timely corresponding dealingsshould be conducted according to procedures.4.Quantitative assessment of students’ behavior isan important part of management system. If well applied, it helps the students to form properliving habits and get ready to enter the society. |
