The pursuit of happiness is the eternal theme in human society. However, as for whathappiness is and how to pursue happiness, different people have different views. With the furtherdevelopment of reform and opening up and the establishment of socialist market economicsystem, some bad western thoughts including money worship, hedonism, individualism so onboomed in China and mislead some people’s understanding and pursuit of happiness. A goodhappiness value can not be formed innately, and it needs to be scientifically educated andcarefully trained later in life. Agricultural college students, cultivated specially by the Party andstate, are high-level agricultural talents who will be the main force in solving the three mainagricultural problems and building a harmonious society. Therefore, developing well agriculturalcolleges students’ happiness view, cultivating them to set up a scientific and rational happinessview, and improving their ability to sense and crate happiness are of great importance for theconstruction of their happy life and the harmonious development of the society.Assessment and education for agricultural colleges students’ happiness view has become animportant part of the work and one of the key topics of college ideological and political education.Guided by Marxist theory of happiness, the thesis comprehensively uses relevant ideology andpolitics pedagogy, sociology, statistics, and pedagogies to make a detailed study of agriculturalcollege students’ happiness view, which constitutes the basic idea of the study. The thesis isdivided into four parts. The first part summarizes the meaning of happiness, happiness view, andthe education of happiness view. It also elaborates on the classification of happiness, and lists theancient, modern, eastern, and western thinkers’ understanding of happiness. The second partdiscusses the reasons to carry out education of happiness view, that is, the meaning ofstrengthening the education of college students’ happiness view. It points out strengthening theeducation of college students’ happiness view is conducive to the all-round development ofcollege students, the fully development of the ideological and political education work, and theharmonious development of the socialist society. The third part analyzes the problems, the causes,and the practice foundation for education of happiness view. Through questionnaire surveys andinterviews, it summarizes some outstanding problems existing in the agricultural collegesstudents’ happiness view and its education in terms of the agricultural colleges students’ generalhappiness, happiness expectation, happiness target, ways to happiness, abilities to createhappiness, cognitive status of happiness, and so on. And it also points out that the emergence ofthese problems is caused by social moral crisis, the negative impact of western values, thelimitations of school moral education, improper family education, and so on. The forth part discusses how to carry out education of happiness view. It further elaborates on ways tostrengthen the education of college students’ happiness view, which includes building a scientificcontent system of happiness view education, expanding various ways of happiness educationpractice, improving college students’ cultivation of ethic thought, and optimizing the environmentfor the education of happiness.
