Parent education is a new topic in the field of adult education. Theterm about parent education, is more used in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regionsof our country, now is gradually accepted and used by inland scholars. The so-calledparent education is to promote parent-family parenting skills and literacy educationor training activities. This paper choose the problem about early school-age studentswith learning difficulties of parent education as the research topic selection ofgraduation thesis, mainly based on the following two considerations: First from theperspective of Adult Education, parent education belongs to the scope of adulteducation, the parents of the world have entered adulthood, raising children is thebounden duty of parents, parenting knowledge and skills are not born with, but astudy to the day after tomorrow, this is the necessity and importance of parenteducation where; Secondly upbringing of children with learning difficulties,compared with normal children, the healthy development of children with learningdifficulties need more care and help from parents. In other words, to fulfill theresponsibility of parenting and counseling children, as parents of children withlearning difficulties, it is even more needed to have the correct rearing attitude,scientific parenting knowledge and skills. In foreign countries and Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan regions of our country, parent education is valued and favoredby people based on providing parents with a lot of help. However, in mainland China,regardless of family education, school education or social education, either academic communities or practice circle, people pay not enough attention to parent educationespecially the students with learning difficulties of parent education.Based on the above reasons, this paper chose the parent education to parents ofearly school-age students with learning difficulties and related issues as the researchobject. This article mainly used the literature methodology, questionnaireinvestigation, interview method and other research methods, on the basis of surveysand interviews of parent education to parents of early school-age students withlearning difficulties, make the in-depth study about the current status, the exitingproblems and future trends of the parent education to parents of early school-agestudents with learning difficulties. In this paper, the main content is:(1) Parenteducation has the important significance of the parents of students with learningdisabilities;(2) The basic situation of parent education to the parents of earlyschool-age students with learning disabilities;(3) The main problems of parenteducation to the parents of early school-age students with learning disabilities;(4)The improvement strategies of the parent education to parents of early school-agestudents with learning difficulties. The main conclusions of this study is:(1) Parenteducation will help enhance the parents of students with learning disabilitiesself-understanding and self-growth, promote parent-child communication and familyrelationships, help to study the effective method of disciplining their children, andhelp them access to social support and mutual fellowship;(2) Currently the mainproblems of the parent education to parents of early school-age students withlearning difficulties are, not enough social importance of parent education, failedeffectively to make concrete operation on parent education to parents of earlyschool-age students with learning difficulties, lack of enough scientific recognitionand attention to parent education;(3) This paper works out some improvementstrategies of the parent education to parents of early school-age students withlearning difficulties, strengthen social support and build parent education network,the concrete operation on parent education of school or training institutions shouldbe improved, to shift understanding of parent education and to advocate parents’independent learning.The innovation of this study lies in: The many research literature on parenteducation are based on general children’s parents, although in a general sense,research findings and ideas may also apply to the parent education to parents ofstudents with learning disabilities, however there are significant differences in terms of family background, physical and psychological health of children, educationalmethods between the general children’s parents and the parents of students withlearning difficulties, so the needs of parent education may be different. This article ison the premise of realizing this important difference, on the basis of investigation,has carried on the theory and practice of preliminary exploration and research relatedparent education to parents of students with learning disabilities. Due to thelimitation of time and energy, this paper research scope is very limited, and therepresentative of the sample also needs to be further improved, relevant suggestionsand conclusion have to further verification.
