On The Ways Of Using The New Media To Encourage Socialist Core Value System In Universities

With the coming of the new media era, universities are facing a new problem: how tobetter encourage socialist core value system among students.This paper firstly analyzes the importance of socialist core value system and believes thatthe socialist core value system is the soul for China’s prosperity. It decides China’s directionof socialism development. As an essential place for realizing this core value system,universities should be responsible and confident in encouraging socialist core value system.Socialist core value system was first put forward on the Sixteenth Plenary Session of theParty’s Sixteenth National Central Committee. From then on, all Chinese people are eager toknow the specific meaning of the value system. So in the Report to the Eighteenth NationalCongress, the socialist core value system was made clearly from the aspects of State System,social level and the personal level of every Chinese people. This is a significant theoreticalinnovation by Chinese Communist Party.Now, the new media such as Micro-blog, Wechat and social network provide a new wayto build a harmonious and positive atmosphere and to spread advancement of the socialism inuniversities. However, these new media have also brought about much misleadinginformation. This will have a bad influence on the thoughts of university students and willbring about many obstacles to encourage the socialist core value system. So we need topropose new methods to deal with these new problems.From the appearing of these new media, we know that the way of information spreadingis becoming increasingly various. In extreme examples, even one person could be a dependent“News Agency”. Obviously, the development of new media will lead to a change in discoursepower.At the same time, we should be alert that the chaos of creating ungrounded informationand abuse of information spreading will be accepted as a normal status, because for a longtime (nobody knows how long it will be) the facts will be covered by those fake news. So usethe media correctly and encourage the socialist core value system seems even more important. After analyzing both sides of the new media, this paper proposes that facing this newproblem, we should hold the socialist core value system firmly and be open-minded andrational in dealing with these changes.We should come up with the matching way with the new media to make sure thatuniversities are our main field in encouraging the socialist core value system. We shouldupdate our thoughts and working methods to keep up with the time.In this era when new media develop quickly the universities’ administrators shouldunderstand and use these new media so as to efficiently solve the problems and becomeexperienced in encouraging socialist core value system in universities.
