Professional knowledge is the important dimension of teacher’sprofessional development。 Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK)is an important field of teachers’ professional knowledge. As achemistry teacher, he should pay more attention to teacher’sself-professional development to help students with theunderstanding of chemistry. The purpose of this study is to developits own PCK, research and solve the three problems:(1) How todevelop and enrich the teachers’ PCK (2)To explore and summarizeeffective ways to improve the chemistry teachers’ PCK.(3) How tohelp students gain a better understanding of chemistry.The study based on my own teaching experience of Class A andClass B Grade9and the teaching materials are from the People’sEducation Publishing.In the research, I taught the content of thechemistry particles content of molecules, atoms, atomic structuresand chemical content of conservation of mass, the chemicalproperties of the metal, acid and alkali by using the action research method. Combined with test methods such as classroomobservation, interview after class, during the research, it revealedthe problems existing in the teachers and students in teachingprocess. And according to the problems, I rethink my teachingdesign and practice, and make corresponding improvement andteaching practice again. During the action research,it forms a newteaching model called "Teaching practice-Problemdiscovery-Teaching reflection-A new exploration practice-Solve theproblems and discover the new problems-Teaching reflection..."The results show that I have developed the knowledge ofchemistry teaching in chemical microcosmic content regularity ofmolecules, atoms, atomic structure and chemical content of thelaw of conservation of mass, the chemical properties of the metal,chemical properties of acid and alkali. And it has also promoted thestudent to understand the molecules and atoms, atomic structure,the law of conservation of mass, the chemical properties of themetal, the chemical properties of acid and alkali chemical,meanwhile it has improved the students’ enthusiasm to studychemistry and interest in learning chemistry and improve thestudents’ academic performance.The conclusion of this study are:(1) My own PCK has developed;(2)The development of PCK has promoted the students’ understanding of science;(3) The effective ways to developteachers’ PCK are as follows: Making an analysis of the specificknowledge during the teaching design; Forming new models topromote the development of PCK during the teachingpractice;Using distinguish observation and sequitur ways topromote the understanding of their learning content; Adopting theappropriate teaching words and auxiliary words to convert theknowledge of chemistry into the expression which is easy forstudents to understand.
