Private ZhouNan girls’school is a model of HuNan province modern education transformation. Private ZhouNan girls’school is a guide of Hunan Women’s education, which promotes the development of the modern women’s education and women’s liberation, as well as the important milestone in the history of modern education in Hunan. The article mainly uses literature analytic method to collect and sort the relevant information of private zhouNan girls’ school running practice, and study it from following five sections:The preface mainly explains the reason and significance of the research theme, combs about private ZhouNan girls’school’s literature, and points out the ideas and methods of this study in order to further the school’s running history research.The first chapter introduces the founding background and development process of ZhouNan private girls’school. The founding background is analyzed from three aspects:the inherent requirements of modern social change; the results of the old and new education struggle; the practice of saving the nation through education by the founders. In this context, ZhouNan girls’school experienced a difficult start-up (1905-1916), the vigorous development (1916-1927), recovery and development (1927-1937), persistent in the war (1937-1945), and the post-war reconstruction (1945-1949), these five stages experienced the quality transformation from private to public.The second chapter analyzes educational philosophy and school characteristics of ZhouNan girls’ school. Zhu Jianfan who runs school for the liberation of women,for improving the quality of the nation,for achieving educational salvation, cultivates acquainted and independent female. Under the guidance of this idea, ZhouNan girls’ school shows distinctive features-the curriculum is progressive and meet the physical and mental development of female’s characteristics; school management reflect both progressiveness standardized and democratic characteristics;on construction of School ethos formed honest studying style and simple teaching style.The third chapter clarifies the reasons of achievement and success of ZhouNan girls’school’s running. The achievement of ZhouNan girls’ school running is mainly in the school size, teaching quality, cultivating a large number of female talent and social impact of these four areas. The main reasons for the success of the ZhouNan girls’school are analyzed from the education reform, construction of teachers and government policy in these three areas. Education reform is the main cause of sustainable development of ZhouNan girls’school; excellent teachers are protection of ZhouNan girls’school; government policy is one objective reason to support the development of ZhouNan girls’school.The fourth chapter describes the impact of private ZhouNan girls’school running history on the Modern Education in Hunan, and its enlightenment to Contemporary Education. ZhouNan girls’school mainly promotes the development of Hunan Women’s education and the development of women’s liberation movement, and it has the significant reference of current HuNan education.
