Since the curriculum reform,“teaching for transfer ability” is no longer a slogan, buthas become a kind of teaching guideline and teaching viewpoint among front-line teachers.So in all teaching activities, we shall create and use conditions and chances which are infavor of positive transfer to improve students’ transfer ability.The development in students’ transfer ability, will contribute to the improvement oftheir ability in analyzing and solving problems, the cultivation of their thinking qualitiesand scientific literacy, and their own long-run development.There are various methods to improve students’ ability in learning transfer. In thepresent paper, the writer adopts the method of creating problem situations in teaching toachieve the effect. Learning transfer occurs in three aspects: knowledge, methods ofthinking, emotional attitude and concept of value. To equip students with comprehensiveabilities of learning transfer in the above three aspects, the writer designs effective problemsituations on the basis of them. To verify the effectiveness of the relative teaching method,the writer carried out a term-long comparative experiment by teaching the class ofexperiment with the method of creating problem situations.The test results of these two classes indicate a significant difference in the posttestcompared with the pretest. Meanwhile, questionnaire result shows the improvement oflearning interest, learning attitude, transfer abilities at knowledge, methods of thinking,emotional attitude and concept of value among students in class of experiment. So theresearch proves that it makes sense of improving students’ ability in learning transferthrough the relative method of creating problem situations.
