Improved Use Of Evaluation Kindergarten Teachers Teaching Scientific Research Subject Knowledge

As the frontier of teachers’ professional knowledge study, Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) illustrates the knowledge in detail that the teacher should know. According to observation, the researcher finds that many childhood teachers were lack of the complete PCK of science, which directly affect the quality of science education in kindergarten. Therefore, in this study, the researcher is cooperating with three teachers to explore using assessment whether and how to promote the increase of PCK. First, the researcher conducted theoretical construction. On the basis of theoretical construction, researcher choose the "Build Bridge" as the assessment instrument. And then, researcher applied this assessment instrument to practical teaching. Multi-methods are approved the practical research including questionnaire, observation, interviews, lesson plan analysis, and teacher reflection analysis. Researcher mainly considers PCK in four aspects:knowledge of subject, knowledge of pre-school children learning, knowledge of pedagogy, and knowledge of assessment.The assessment instrument has produced an initial effect in the practical research process:(1) Knowledge of subject, teachers understand the nature of science more clearly; teachers know scientific inquiry objective, process and ability more clearly; teachers understand the science core concept more completely.(2) Knowledge of pre-school children learning, increasing the teachers’understanding for different children’s experience and ability; improving the teachers’understanding for children’s scientific myth concept.(3) Knowledge of pedagogy, teachers know the teaching model of scientific inquiry activity more clearly; teachers know how to provide teaching materials for children; teachers know how to use the question to guide children’s learning.(4) Knowledge of assessment,"Build Bridge" assessment instrument improve teachers’consciousness of observation, learn how to observe, help teachers draw inferences about other cases from one instance and transfer the new assessment idea into different educational and instructional domain. Researcher found that "Build Bridge" assessment instrument itself and teachers’observation can promote the increase of PCK. Besides,"Build Bridge" assessment instrument as a kind of "thinking tool" promote the increase of PCK.
