In the1980s, post-modernism feminism pushed the third wave of feminism. Donna Haraway is one of the most important theorists in this field. Her cyborg theory makes the feminism theory more dynamic. Haraway gives the concept of the cyborg more abundant connotation, and structures a new theory. With the publication of the A Cyborg Manifesto, she established her original cyborg feminism theory.As an interdisciplinary scholar, she also researches in the fields of biology, philosophy of science and science fiction. It is difficult to accept her theory in a single field. Cyborg feminism is the kernel of her theory, which including three parts. The first part is the connotation of cyborg, which discuss a new body theory. Haraway emphasizes the materiality of body. She suggests that with the development of science and technology, the body is no longer the human body of traditional essentialism, but the hybrid of human, machine and animal. The second part is the cyborg feminism which is guided by the concept of situated knowledge. Haraway insists a kind of partial vision, and criticizes the masculine discourse in the objective science. By investigating the gender identity paradigm and sex-gender system, she thinks it is necessary to establish a new feminism which introduces science and technology into feminism theory and practice. Haraway considers breaking the binary opposition system and accepting a post-gender identity. The third part of is the cyborg narration bases on the cyborg theory. There are abundant cyborg figures in this kind of texts. These transgender figures make us rethink the present situation of human beings.
