| The Internet of Things is a heterogeneous network. For example, wireless sensornetworks as the front end of things may be a ZigBee network, and the network forlong-haul transmission in the Internet of Things may be the Internet or mobile Internet.Therefore, in order to ensure the data transmission successfully in the Internet ofThings, it must be converted the different communication interfaces(such as serialport, WiFi,3G/GPRS, Ethernet, etc.) among the heterogeneous networks. Thedevelopment of conversion equipment with multiple communication interfaces canensure a seamless connection between the Internet of Things. The main works aboutthe thesis as followed.Firstly, it is not currently developed the multiple communication interfacesconversion equipment for Internet of Things on the markets. People have to purchasesome communication interface conversion equipments which just for theheterogeneous networks, such as the serial port to WiFi conversion equipment. Itresults in the difficulty of deployment in the Internet of Things. We solved theproblem in the thesis. For developing a device which can convert differentcommunication interfaces in the data transmission. The device can be adapt to theInternet of Things for the flexible transparent transmission of data among the multiplecommunication interfaces.Secondly, we develop the convergence device, which is based on the processorof ARM. In order to improve the cost performance of the equipment, we don’t applythe popular operating system which called Android, instead of using the Linuxoperating system. For the goal of the thesis applications such as a variety ofcommunication interface drivers and the resources of equipment hardware (CPU,memory, etc.) which is commonly used for the Internet of Things, we have tominimize cutting the Linux operating system. After cutting the Linux operatingsystem, it not only reduces the cost of hardware and software, but also improves thestability of the equipment. In general, the Internet of Things is a wide-area network for deployment, and theconversion equipment also may be arranged in different geographical. People need toset up and maintain the sensor networks from a variety of area under normalcircumstances. Therefore we load on the convergence device with an embedded webserver which can makes it possible to use the Internet to remote configuration andmaintenance of equipment, thereby greatly increasing the flexibility and ease ofmaintenance of the Internet of Things networking. |
