With the development of Internet of Things and Intelligent Transportationtechnology, vehicle management system based on GPS not only becomes the researchhotspot, but also gets strong promotion. In this paper, vehicle management systembased on GPS integrates global positioning system (GPS) with general packet radioservice (GPRS) network, geographic information system (GIS) and embeddedtechnology. Then the system successfully reaches the aim of long-distance monitoring,controlling and managing the vehicles.The hardware of vehicle management system based on GPS was centered onLPC1765FBD100processor. Processor interface circuit, GPS module circuit, GPRSmodule circuit, power supply circuit, detection and control circuit and other auxiliarycircuit were respectively designed. GPS module adopted NEO-5M and GPRS moduleadopted G600.The software of vehicle management system based on GPS contained embeddedequipment software and platform software. Embedded equipment software adopted theμC/OS-Ⅱ operating system to complete effective scheduling of each embeddedsoftware function module. Platform software was based on B/S framework. Server sideand Web side software function modules were respectively designed on that basis.
