Design And Implementation Of Zone Command-Line Registration Module And Configuration Module Of Fcoe Switches

Modern information systems have higher requirements in the data storage, network performance and network security, with the rapid growth of the Internet and network technology. While, SAN technology came into being. SAN (Storage Area Network) is independent of the server network system with high-speed storage network. This network uses Fibre Channel as the transmission media and always uses FC and SCSI application protocol as the storage access protocol. Therefore, the storage area network truly achieves the goal of high-speed shared storage. FCoE (Fibre Channel over Ethernet) technology allows data compatible between Ethernet and Fibre Channel and integrates data types in the LAN and SAN network. So it can greatly reduce the network nodes and the management burden.This article is written based on the author’s internship experience of the development of a switching system and the author’s major achievement was the completion of the Zone command-line registration module and configuration module of FCoE swithches. Zone feature is based on the VSAN division:With VSAN division similar to Ethernet VLAN division, the network administrator could set various devices that located on the same network to a different VSAN with the needs of the practical application. While Zoning is for the further division of VSAN members so that members isolated from each other between the different zones.Zone command-line registered module and Zone command-line configuration module are the sub-modules of the Zone module. The Zone command-line registration module complete all command-line registration tasks of Zone project and is the entrance of the Zone module interacting with users. Zone command-line configuration module is based on the Zone project requirements and completes all command-line configuration tasks of Zone project related to multiple modules such as Zone database module and Zone data distribution module. The paper analyzes the variety of technical knowledge about the Zone Project of FCoE switches and describes the FC protocol, FCoE, VSAN, Zone application and other relevant background technology at first. And then, it completes the requirements analysis, design and implementation of the Zone command-line registration and the Zone command line configuration module. Finally, the paper is summarized.
