Pneumatic actuators offer a low-cost alternative to conventional servotechnologies. Like electromagnetic actuators, pneumatics was used widely inindustrial because of its clean and reliable operation. Unlike electromagnetic, apneumatic actuator exhibits significant nonlinear behavior. These nonlinearcharacteristics has increased the complexity of the servo control of the pneumaticactuator.With the development of the embedded system technology, embeddedmicroprocessor can provide high processing capacity. Meanwhile, the fullyfunctional operating system ported to embedded microprocessor platforms. Using theoperating system management of embedded system hardware and software resources,not only reduces the difficulty of developing system software, while also increasingthe stability and security of the system.According to characteristics of pneumatic actuators, we designs a pneumaticservo controller based on the ARM microprocessor and embedded Linux. Assisted bythe ARM microprocessor and embedded Linux, complex control algorithms whichused by the controller can be implemented.Firstly, this thesis describes the development of pneumatic servo control andembedded system technology. Taking into account the test requested, we design theoverall structure of pneumatic servo system. Then establishing the system model andresearch the control theory, designed the classic PID control algorithm and intelligentfuzzy PID controller based on the modern control theory. On the software side of thiscontroller, the transplantation of embedded Linux operating system and the Androidapplication framework is complete. Finally, we take a control performance test.These test results show that the controller can done well in pneumatic system and ingood data-processing functions.
