Universal Serial Bus(USB) has received wide attention since appearance of theday, now it has become the serial interface for PC and consumer electronics. Withthe quick development of digital multimedia technology and increasing amplifiedfiles, the last generation of USB interface, USB2.0can’t meat the needs of real-timesynchronous transmission anymore. For this reason, Intel and many other companylaunched USB3.0protocol specification by the end of2008. USB3.0supports thehighest transfer rate at5.0Gbp and it could achieve people’s demands of immediatetransmission well in a few years. The performance of transmitter circuit directlyaffects the USB3.0interface transmitting data speed and quality. In this article,concerning my design of transmitter circuit apply to USB3.0interface.Based on the signal integrity analysis, this article points out the issues shouldbe considered and the solutions during the high frequency signal transmission. Putforward the design goals and overall structure according to the requirement ofUSB3.0specification. Then to the transmitter circuit design and simulation ofspecific modules and half clock technique design based on the pre-emphasis drivercircuit. The circuit of sample structure reduces system requirements for clock frequency, thusreducing power consumption. Other modules of this design include divide-by-5frequencydivider,10bit parallel to serial circuit, pre-drive circuit, CML driver circuit,bandgap reference circuit and DAC current circuit, etc. After the accomplishmentof all module design and simulation, the integral circuit is simulated in someextreme conditions. The simulation results show the circuit has good performanceand working stably. At last, this article introduces the layout design of transmittercircuit. The layout area is about480μm×300μm.
