With the rapid development of national economy, demand of bank branch has a greatincrease in urban areas in recent years. At the same time, the safety problem of bank branchequipment has brought great challenges to monitoring system of bank. So security, stability,high efficiency and being intelligent have become the trend of the development of videosurveillance system in the field of financial. The significance of identification technology formaking bank monitoring system more intelligent is very important. As one of biologicalrecognition technologies, face recognition technology has been used widely, which is verysafe for its uniqueness and permanence.Nowadays,the technology of Internet and multimedia develop very fast. With the perfect ofdevelopment platform of Linux embedded system, the intelligent monitoring system based onembedded system has become the focus of current research. Real-time monitoring systembased on Linux embedded platform combines the embedded system technology, digital imageprocessing technology and network technology and so on. This design could give strongtechnical support to build new kind of camera monitoring system, which is safer, more stableand more intelligent.Under the background mentioned above, real-time face detection system based onembedded system platform was designed in this paper, and was implemented successfully.TMS320DM368, one of Da Vinci series from TI company products, was the central processorof the hardware platform, which include video acquisition/display module, storage module,communications module, power module and other hardware module. On the top of thesoftware architecture, the application program was developed, which has the function ofcapturing current image data, face detection and video display. The interface for networktransmission was also added in application program. After doing a lot of test work, thefunction of real-time face detection system was achieved and met the project requirements.The main content of this research included:(1) Background and current status about this research at home and abroad, was beingcollected. Also some basic knowledge of embedded system development technology, imageprocessing technology and face detection technology was accumulated and learned.(2) Referring to requirements of the project, the whole hardware platform of embeddedsystem was designed and implemented.(3) Based on Linux software system architecture, the application program for real-time facedetection was developed on application layer. (4) The deficiencies of this system were summarized to expand the function of videomonitoring system after this paper.This design has certain guiding significance and application value for developing thefunction of face detection and face recognition in video monitoring system.
