As a weighing equipment which can achieve freight trains non-stop dynamic detection, dynamic railway scale can not only provides basis for cargo transportation fee settlement, it also takes the role of overload and partial load detection to protect the safety of railway transport. Among the whole system, the performance of data acquisition and transmission part is critical to the overall performance of the system. Traditionally, the data acquisition and transmission system is designed by using MCU, DSP or ARM devices. But this design approach is not flexible, once it is done, it is difficult to modify or upgrade.In order to improve the performance and flexibility of dynamic railway scale, this paper proposed an IP reuse-based design approach for dynamic railway scale data acquisition and transmission system. It adopts existed IP cores and independently designed IP core to build a programmable system on an FPGA, realized data acquisition and transmission control. The main tasks this paper completed are as follows:1. Designed a data acquisition control system by using SPI core and PIO core for AD7714data acquisition control;2. Developed a dedicated control IP core for Ethernet controller ENC28J60and build the data transmission module based on it.3. Wrote driver and applications for each module and completed the system control program; 4. Designed the system circuit and verified the system performance by field testing.
