After entering the21st century, the enterprises attach more and more importance totheir own information technology construction. Information system has greatly improvesthe efficiency of enterprise operations management. Most of the information systems arebased on relational database. It is very effective for structured data storage. However,there are more and more unstructured data. In particular, some documents, relationaldatabases can’t provide well-related functions. Cases of clinical information managementsystem is designed and developed to make the management of clinical documentationmore efficient, improve the efficiency of document’s CRUD operations.The Cases of clinical information management system use struts as framework, XMLdatabase as the storage media of data, XQuery as operating statements, XQuery for javafor the interaction between the foreground web system and XML database to achieve Dataencapsulation and Layered architecture. Makes the system easy to extend and maintain.This paper first analyzes background of the research and significance of research projectsand problems of other systems. Then it shows the main research content and systemcharacteristics. And analysis the technology used in the system: struts XQuery for javaand related technologies, including the XQuery, XPath, XSLT. Then show the designarchitecture of the system. As well as analyze design of the system’s hierarchical moduleto achieve the purpose of good scalability and maintainability. Then to show theimplement of four independent modules: use struts to achieve the separation of web pageand java background; Use XMLConfigClientTemplate to package the management of theconfiguration of the query statement to make the query statement can be modified in theconfiguration files; Use XQuery for java Module to achieve the interact between websystem and the XML database.
